EMDR Research
EMDR Therapy is recommended by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS) as a safe and effective therapy for single event trauma. Trauma Network Response Ireland (TRNI) was established to coordinate the EMDR response in Ireland to mass trauma events.
Although EMDR is an empirically-based therapy, TRNI is committed to conducting the highest quality of research in evaluating the efficacy of EMDR with mass trauma. The research team at TRNI is led by Dr Derek Farrel supported by a research team of expert Trauma Clinicians
TRNI research will generate needed evidence to raise the position of EMDR within national and international guidelines to provide greater access to EMDR for clients.
Working in partnership with our EMDR Ireland National Professional Association our research supports and promotes more EMDR Trained trauma therapists. All our therapists are Accredited Psychotherapists with their core accredited professional organisations including IACP, IAHIP, ICP, BACP, PSI , and additionally trained to Minimum Level 3 EMDR training including additional GTEP Group Traumatic Rapid Response Trauma Episode EMDR Protocols to respond to mass trauma events.
